I lived in Christchurch New Zealand from 1996-2008. Christchurch is a beautiful city with so much open space, beautiful gardens, parks and beaches. I own my own home close to the Waimak River which is a great place for recreation from walking dogs, to off roading in my Jeep, to jetskiing and simliar activities. I used to have a Dalamtion and Weimaraner called Tilman and Jae, who sadly passed away in 2008 and 2009. I love dogs and find they were a great leveler, while living and training full time in New Zealand.No matter what is going on in the world, each day they are so happy to be alive! I watch the simpliest of things in life make them so incredibly happy and its a constant reminder that life should be simple and fun and its us who make it so complicated. No matter if i won or lost my dogs would always be there to lick my face at the end of the day, and as long as we get satisfaction from what we do, and strive to give our best, then life is fulfilling and rewarding. Animals do not judge or care how many records or medals you have, for as soon as you walk through the front door, they are as excited to see you as the last time! I love animals of all kinds and am a member of the RSPCA in Canterbury NZ and support the Bath dogs and Cats home in UK as often as i can. I despise animal cruelty and have no respect for anyone that harm such loving and giving creatures. During 2006 i completed and passed my NZ qualification in Personal Training and became REPS qualified. This has been great as it now allows me to do part time work in gyms along with my swim coaching. I love the coaching aspect of swimming, just as much as swimming itself. I have been working with a wide range of younger swimmers and coaches in NZ especially Christchurch in an attempt to help NZ swimming grow and educate coaches on what breaststroke and sprint swimming is all about. I always hoped that one day i would have my own squad of swimmers and nurture them into the up and coming stars of the future. After living back in the UK and training at the University of Bath, i now have…and am the Head Coach of Street&District and Chard&District Swimming clubs in Somerset based in the South West of England. We have now formed our own performance team call The Somerset CHEETAS (see the web page for more details)
