…FOR GAINING PROMOTION TO THE ARENA LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION!

This was a brilliant result but one i expected and have worked hard for this season. Its been a while since we have seen Street in the A Final in Division 1, and this year not only did we make the final, we gained the second spot for promotion – a first in the club history. We went into the final in 7th spot and worked hard from the outside lane, fighting for every place and mentally being tougher than i have ever seen the club before.To come back from 7th position with such strong competition against such good clubs, we did what some people thought was impossible.

I had heard rumors of other teams saying bad things about us and trying to taint our success. Thats ok, sometimes jealously comes across in a bitter way, but to be gracious in defeat is something some people find hard. We respect all our competition and are better athletes and coaches because of it. What we have achieved this weekend was due to the hard work of Street and DIstrict swimmers and coaches and the fabulous support of the parents and committee. I came here to turn this club around, and am working hard each day to make this happen. We aim to be a performance club that competes with the very best.

February 2010 – Starts and Turns Fundraiser for Street&District S.C

Street and District swimming club are organising a Starts and Turns clinic on Sunday the 7th of February 2010 at the University of Bath of which 50% of proceeds are acting as a club fundraiser. There are 2 clinics, breaststroke and fly and a back and free. Placed are limited and are 8 swimmers to a clinic. Please enquire for more details.

My next swim clinic will be on the 21st November and will be in conjunction with Street and District Swimming club. The funds from this clinic are acting as a fundraiser for the club but is open to any swimmer from any club. Please contact me for an application form as places are limited to 28 swimmers.

My next clinic will be a STARTS AND TURNS Clinic and i will set a date for early in the new year. Please watch this space for more details.

Breaststroke Swim Clinic – 31st October University of Bath

I will be running a two and a half hour intensive training breaststroke clinic at the University of Bath on Saturday 31st October. This will be a 30mins talk at 9:30am followed by a 2 hour pool sesson 10-12pm. Please email me to book your places early as camp is limited to 20 places only!

Wilts County ASA Long Course Training (University of Bath 11th July)

Goodbye Jae! RIP

After nearly 11 years i must sadly say goodbye to Jae, my much loved Weimarener dog. Jae had been ill for a while, suffering with a heart condition as well as having several major strokes during April-June. Before we could get Jae to the vet after supperring from another stroke and what looked like a heart attack Jae passed away at home. He will be missed greatly and will be very sad to go back to NZ in August and him be gone.RIP Jae – you will always be loved.Â
